Cresson, PA - The Mount Aloysius women's soccer team recorded their third shutout of the season as they defeated Chatham 3-0 in non-conference action on Tuesday afternoon at home.
After a few missed chances early, the Mount's Olivia Woodley made it 1-0 in favor of the home side 19 minutes into the game. Megan Parker recorded the assist after she took the ball from a Chatham defender and found Woodley in front of the net. Twelve minutes later, the Mounties increased the lead to 2-0 courtesy of Ellee Harpster on a feed from Mackenzie Horne.
Woodley pushed the lead to 3-0 at the 59:20 mark on another assist from Parker. Parker lofted a pass over the defense and Woodley calmly placed it past the charging Chatham goalkeeper.
Zara Apakoh recorded the shutout in net for the Mounties, who outshot the Cougars 10-2 and had a 4-1 advantage in corner kick opportunities. Apakoh registered one save, while Chatham's Liz Sawyer had three saves for the game.
Mount Aloysius will be back in action tomorrow with a non-conference contest on the road against Bethany College, which is set to begin at 2 p.m.
