Bethany, WV - The Mount Aloysius women's soccer team recorded a huge non-conference victory over Bethany College by a score of 2-1 on Wednesday afternoon.

The Mounties, who lost 7-0 to Bethany a year ago, scored less than four minutes in as Elizabeth Josephson ripped in a free kick from over 25 yards out. Later in the half, Kristin James scored on a feed from Olivia Woodley to make it a 2-0 game.

A minute after James' goal, Bethany scored to make it 2-1, which would carry into halftime.

In the second half, the Mountie defense led by Josephson and Shelby Anderson kept Bethany at bay. Goalkeeper Zara Apakoh came up with a few big stops as she recorded seven saves in the win.

Mount Aloysius returns to action on Saturday with a trip to Pitt-Bradford.
