Women's Soccer Breaks Scoring Record in Season Opener

The Mounties scored a program-record 13 goals in the shutout

Cresson, PA - The Mount Aloysius College women's soccer team broke a program record for goals scored in a game in a 13-0 win over Penn State Allegheny on Friday afternoon at home in their season opener.

Olivia Woodley led the way offensively with three goals and two assists. Junior captain Elizabeth Josephson had two goals and two assists. Sophomore Megan Parker recorded two goals and one assist, and sophomore transfer Shelby Anderson added two goals.

The Mounties scored four goals in the first ten minutes of play to take control, and outshot the visitors 28-0 throughout the game. The Mount also had a 6-0 edge in corners.

Freshmen goalkeepers Kristin James and Alyssa Wills split time in net while recording the shutout.

The Mounties will return to action on Tuesday afternoon when they host Hiram College. Game time is set for 5 p.m.
