Box Score Cresson, PA - The Mount Aloysius women's soccer team dropped a heartbreaker to Thiel College by the score of 2-1 in double overtime on Saturday afternoon at home.
After a scoreless first half,
Olivia Woodley put the Mounties in front with a goal on a pass from
Elizabeth Josephson in the 50th minute. Thiel responded with a goal in the 63rd minute to tie things up at 1-1.
Both sides had chances late before the game headed into overtime. In the first overtime,
Shelby Anderson had a great opportunites from 20 yards out, but her shot went just over the bar. With three minutes remaining in the second overtime, Thiel scored on a lofted shot over the Mount's
Kristin James.
James registered 10 saves in net, while Woodley had a game-high five shots.
Mount Aloysius returns to action on Thursday with a trip to Penn College.
