Mounties Come Up Short Against Bradford

Box Score
Cresson, PA - The Mount Aloysius women's soccer team came up short in an AMCC contest on Saturday afternoon, falling to visiting Pitt-Bradford by a score of 6-1.

The visiting Bobcats, currently at the top of the conference standings, scored twice in the first half at the 4:32 mark and 24:01 mark on goals from Melissa Smith and Tess Folman. After the break, the visitors scored four goals in a 14 minute stretch to take a commanding lead.

The Mounties got one back with just over 21 minutes left to play as Mary Durle struck a shot from 20 yards out off of a feed from Olivia Woodley to get the Mounties on the board.

Mount Aloysius goalkeeper Zara Apakoh kept the Mounties in it early and was fantastic throughout as she made 10 saves, including a few diving stops in the second half.

Woodley led the Mounties with three shots, while Durle added two shots for the game.

The Mounties return to action on Tuesday with a 2 p.m. home matchup against La Roche College.
