Cresson, PA - The Mount Aloysius women's soccer team lost a close conference matchup 1-0 to visiting La Roche on Tuesday afternoon.

Despite outshooting the visitors by an 8-4 margin, the Mounties fell into a 1-0 hole in the 57th minute when the Redhawks capitalized on a goal from Vanessa Ceravalo from the top of the box.

The first half was a scoreless affair in which the Mounties created one of their best chances of the game midway through the session. Olivia Hannan got behind the defense on a through ball from Olivia Woodley, but her shot sailed just high of the goal.

After falling behind 1-0, Woodley had a number of opportunities in the late stages. However, each of her three shots on goal were stopped by La Roche keeper Destiney Davis.

The Mounties return to play on Sunday with their final road contest of the season. They will play in Buffalo against Medaille College. Game time is set for noon.
