Elizabeth Josephson had a beauty of a goal on a direct kick from 20 yards out in the 88th minute, but the Mount Aloysius women's soccer team fell 5-1 to visiting Penn State Behrend in AMCC action on Saturday afternoon.

Mackenzie Horne, who will both be graduating this spring, were both honored prior to the game. Josephson is a four-year starter and three-year captain who has started in all 68 Mountie games in her career including today. Her goal was the 15th of her career despite playing the majority of the time at center back. Horne, another three-year starter on defense, appeared in her 51st game today, all of which are starts.
The visiting Lions struck four times in the first 20 minutes of the contest to take firm control of the match. The Mounties lone chance came off of a corner kick in the later stages of the first half, but Horne's shot went just wide.
Mount Aloysius played much improved in the second half as
Mary Durle and
Kady Bills both had chances on frame. After Josephson's goal in the 88th minute, Behrend score a final tally late to end the match at 5-1.
Zara Apakoh made 13 saves in net for the Mounties.
Mount Aloysius will wrap up its season with an AMCC contest on Tuesday at home against Penn State Altoona.
Senior Day Announcement:Mackenzie Horne – Horne, a three-year starter and two-year captain for the Mounties, has served as a tremendous leader both on and off the field for Mount Aloysius. Today will be her 50
th start in 50 appearances for the Mounties, and she has recorded two goals and four assists throughout her career while playing both midfield and defense. Off the field, the Berlin, PA native has been a member of the Dean's List, Academic All-Conference team and is a Mercy Scholar. Horne carries a 3.93 GPA and will graduate in May with a degree in Political Science-History.Â

th appearance and 67
th start in a Mountie uniform since the Fall of 2011. A Munson, PA native, Josephson has scored 14 goals and added 7 assists over the course of her career. She has been a member of the Dean's List, Academic All-Conference team and was inducted into the Chi Alpha Sigma Student-Athlete Honor Society last spring for her academic performance, leadership and character. Josephson carries a 3.68 GPA and will graduate in May with a degree in Biology.
