Box Score Steubenville, OH - The Mount Aloysius women's soccer team dropped an AMCC contest 3-0 to host Franciscan University on Tuesday afternoon.
Zara Apakoh registered 14 saves in the loss for the Mounties, while
Olivia Woodley registed two shots to lead the offensive attack.
Franciscan posted two goals in the first half, before the Mounties generated a few opportunities throughout the second half. Woodley was through on a breakaway in the beginning stages of the second period of play, but a goalkeeper handball from outside of the box prevented a shot on goal from the sophomore striker. The Mounties ensuing free kick went over the crossbar.
The Barons added an insurance goal on a free kick with just under two minutes to play in the game.
With the loss, the Mounties fall to 7-3 on the season. The team returns to action on Saturday with a home AMCC game against Hilbert College.
