Women's Soccer Wins Third Straight

Box Score
Cresson, PA - The Mount Aloysius women's soccer team won their third consecutive game by a score of 1-0, as the Mounties defeated visiting Keystone College on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action.

The Mounties dominated from the start and the duo of Mary Durle and Olivia Woodley created a number of chances. Woodley got behind the defense in the 10th minute, and her cross just missed the foot of Durle for a tap-in goal. Eight minutes later, Woodley found Durle in the box and the freshman striker knocked it home to give the Mounties a 1-0 lead.

Keystone had a few chances as the half came to a close, but Zara Apakoh was up to the task in goal as the Mount took the 1-0 advantage into the half.

Both sides created chances in the second half, as another Durle goal was called off due to a foul. Midway through the half, Keystone hit the post off of a breakaway attempt. The visitors found one or two more chances, but the Mounties held strong to take the win.

Woodley led the Mount with five shots, while Durle added three and Olivia Hannan registered two. Apakoh made four saves in net as she currently has a three-game shutout streak.

The Mounties improve to 3-1 on the season and will host Lycoming College next Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
