Box Score Bradford, PA - The Mount Aloysius women's soccer team played well for long stretches of the game against conference-leading Pitt-Bradford, but ultimately fell by a final score of 3-0 on Saturday afternoon in AMCC action.
The Mounties had the first chance early on when
Olivia Woodley found
Jordan Gebhart on a run through the box. Gebhart was tripped and the ensuing free kick was blocked by Pitt-Bradford. The hosts scored their first goal with 15:46 remaining in the first half on a deflected through ball that resulted in a breakaway, and Pitt-Bradford carried a 2-0 lead into the half as they added another goal four minutes before the break.
Pitt-Bradford took a 3-0 lead and closed the scoring with 26:22 left in the game. The Mounties had another great chance to score in the second half when
Katie Wilmink got on the end of a corner kick but her shot deflected and went over the crossbar.
Woodley led the Mounties from her midfield position with three shots, including two on net. Wilmink,
Kristin James and
Amanda Brancato each registered one shot apiece. Defensively,
Zara Apakoh made 11 saves.
Mount Aloysius returns to the field on Tuesday with a match at La Roche College.
