Box Score Cresson, PA - The Mount Aloysius women's soccer team got back on the winning track with a 4-1 victory over Medaille College on Saturday afternoon in AMCC play.
Amanda Brancato got the Mounties off to a start as she scored just 35 seconds into the game when she knocked in an
Olivia Woodley cross. Woodley then expanded the lead to 2-0 at the 19:22 mark of the first half on a beautiful shot from 30 yards out.
The duo of Brancato and Woodley would help Mount Aloysius net their third goal of the half with less than 10 minutes remaining in the period. Brancato found Woodley on a quick pass down the line, and after two dribbles Woodley struck a shot that beat the keeper to the near post. The Mounties took a 3-0 lead into halftime.
Neither team produced much offensively until the later stages of the second half. The Mavericks ended the shutout with a well-placed shot in the 79th minute, but the Mounties responded just over a minute later as
Jordan Gebhart scored her ninth goal of the season.
Kristin James saw her first action in goal for the Mounties, earning her first victory with three saves.
The Mounties honored their lone senior
Caitlin Greiner before the game. Greiner has helped the Mounties earn 20 victories over the last three seasons and is second all-time in career appearances at Mount Aloysius.
The Mounties improve to 7-9 overall and will have a week off before returning to the field next Saturday at Penn State Behrend.
