Altoona, PA - The Mount Aloysius men's tennis team won their second game in a row and first conference match of the season with a 5-4 victory over visiting Pitt-Bradford on Sunday afternoon.
After dropping the first two doubles matches,
Aubrey Brown and
Jim Smith stepped up to register an 8-5 victory at #3 doubles.
Matt Hample then recorded a victory at #1 singles, and
Justin Fleegle notched a 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 win at #3 singles. Brown then rallied from a 6-0 defeat in the first set of #4 singles to win 6-2, 6-1 in the next two sets to give the Mounties a 4-3 advantage.
Kevin Ouellette then clinched the match for Mount Aloysius at #5 singles with a 6-2, 6-4 victory.
Mount Aloysius improves to 2-1 overall on the season and 1-0 in AMCC action. They return to action tomorrow with a matchup against Franciscan University on the road at 7 p.m.
