Altoona, PA - The Mount Aloysius men's tennis team was defeated by a final score of 7-2 against visiting D'Youville College on Saturday afternoon in AMCC action at the Altoona Summit Athletic Club.
The Mounties played well at #1 doubles and #2 doubles before ultimately dropping both matches.
Matt Hample and
Justin Fleegle were edged 8-5 at #1 doubles before
Nick Centar and
Jacob Aravich were defeated by a narrow 8-6 margin at #2 doubles.
Facing a 4-0 deficit, Fleegle won 6-0, 6-1 at #2 singles and Centar followed up with a 5-7, 6-1, 6-1 victory at #3 singles to cut the gap to 4-2. However, the Spartans won the final three singles matches to register the victory.
Mount Aloysius falls to 3-4 overall and 1-3 in conference play. They return to the court tomorrow with a 6 p.m. AMCC matchup on the road against Pitt-Greensburg.
