Box Score 1 | Box Score 2
Buffalo, NY - The Mount Aloysius softball team scored 21 runs in a doubleheader sweep of Hilbert College on Saturday afternoon at D'Youville College. After winning game one 11-1 over the Hawks, the Mounties notched a 10-2 victory in game two.

In game one, Mountie pitcher Kelsey Ickes threw a five-inning no hitter as she allowed just three walks while striking out eight hitters. Ickes got plenty of help on the offensive end as the Mounties scored five runs in their first three at-bats. After holding a 5-1 advantage after four innings, Mount Aloysius scored five more runs in the top of the fifth capped by Brandie Mott stealing home. Ickes then retired the side in the bottom of the fifth to end the game via the mercy rule.

Alexandria Teeter and Hayley McGowan each registered two hits in game one. Teeter had two RBIs, while McGowan scored two runs. Sam Crilley had three RBIs, and eight different Mounties scored a run in the ballgame.

In game two, Heather Picard and Crilley combined to limit Hilbert to four hits in a five-inning affair. Mount Aloysius scored three runs in their first at-bat highlighted by an RBI double from Kaleigh Roop, and the visitors expanded the lead to 8-1 after four innings of play with big hits provided from Chelsea Engeholm (solo home run in the third, two RBI-triple in the fourth) and McGowan (RBI double in the fourth). The Mounties once again ended the game after five innings as the visitors added two runs in the top of the fifth before the Hawks got one back in the bottom of the inning to create the 10-2 final.

Engeholm was 3-for-3 with three runs scored and three RBI's in game two to pace the Mounties.

Mount Aloysius improves to 8-2 in conference play and 15-9 overall. They will face La Roche College tomorrow at D'Youville in a rescheduled game with first pitch of the doubleheader set for 3 p.m.
