Box Score 1 | Box Score 2
Buffalo, NY - Alexandria Teeter powered a home run, double and five RBI's in 15-6 game two victory as the Mount Aloysius softball team split a conference doubleheader with La Roche College on Sunday afternoon in neutral-site contests played at D'Youville College. The Redhawks won game one of the set by a score of 6-3.

Teeter was 3-for-5 with three runs scored in game two. A double from Teeter in the top of the fourth inning brought in two runs to tie things up at 4-4, and she slugged a home run in the top of the fifth to increase the Mounties advantage from 9-5 to 12-5.

Mount Aloysius scored two unearned runs in the first inning before the Redhawks got four runs back in their first two at-bats. The Mounties opened up the game with seven runs on seven hits in the top of the fourth. Tayler Young and Brittany Burris provided RBI singles in the inning, and Teeter and Kaleigh Roop each knocked doubles that brought in two runs apiece.

After Teeter's home run in the fifth, the Mounties ended game two via the mercy rule with three runs in the sixth inning. Brandie Mott drove home two with a double, and Chelsea Engeholm hit an RBI single to stretch the lead to 15-6. Sam Crilley then retired La Roche in the bottom of the inning to end the ballgame.

Mott added three hits in game two, and Ali Reese, Natalie Karpinsky, Roop, Burris and Engeholm recorded two hits as the Mounties registered 17 hits for the game. Crilley earned the victory as she threw six innings and allowed ten hits and two earned runs.

In game one, La Roche used an offensive surge in the bottom of the fourth to seize command on their way to the win. The game was tied 1-1 when the Redhawks used five hits to plate five runs in the inning. Mount Aloysius rallied in their final at-bat as Taylor Swatsworth drove in Burris with a double. Teeter then recorded an RBI on a groundout that scored Mott, but the Redhawks secured the final two outs in order to take the win.

Burris led the Mountis with two hits in game one. Kelsey Ickes was handed the loss despite striking out 10 in six innings on the rubber.

The Mounties are now 16-10 on the season and 9-3 in conference play. They return to action on Tuesday with a non-conference doubleheader at home against Juniata College set to begin at 3 p.m.
