Cresson, PA - The Mount Aloysius men's tennis team was defeated by identical scores of 8-1 in two matches on Sunday and Monday. The Mounties lost to Lancaster Bible College followed by a loss to Bethany College in two non-conference matchups.
Against Lancaster Bible,
John Ouellette and
Jacob Aravich had the most success of all of the Mountie doubles partners as the duo fell by a final score of 8-5 at #3 doubles.
Matt Hample lost a tight contest at #1 singles by a 7-6, 1-6, 3-6 scoreline. Aravich went on to pick up the Mounties lone win of the day wirh a 2-6, 6-3, 10-8 victory at #5 singles.
In a rematch versus Bethany, the Mounties could not repeat the same success they had in a 5-4 victory over the Bison on March 30th. The #1 and #2 doubles matches were very competitive as Mountie partners Hample and
Justin Fleegle lost 8-5 before
Nick Centar and
Kevin Ouellette fell by a final of 8-6. In singles play, Fleegle earned a win at #2 singles with a 6-4, 6-4 decision for his seventh individual win of the season in singles play. Fleegle now has a winning record at singles play at 7-5 overall.
Mount Aloysius now has an overall record of 3-9, including a 1-5 mark in the AMCC.
