Box Score La Plume, PA - Four different Mount Aloysius women's soccer players scored a goal as the Mounties picked up their second win of the season with a 4-1 victory over host Keystone College on Saturday afternoon.
Jordan Gebhart started the scoring as she sent in a free kick from midfield that skipped over the keeper's head and into the net to make it 1-0 Mounties with 34:33 remaining in the first half. The Giants tied the game up seven minutes later after a cross was redirected in. When the two teams appeared to be going into the half tied 1-1, the Mount's
Harpreet Heer swiped the ball off of a Keystone defender and blasted in a shot to give Mount Aloysius the momentum and a 2-1 lead heading into the break.
The momentum carried into the second half for the Mounties, and
Kristin James created a 3-1 lead when she flicked in a pass from
Amanda Brancato with 36:31 left in the game. The Mountie defense did not break for the remainder of the second half, and
Olivia Woodley provided another insurance goal with two minutes remaining.
The two sides were even in shots at 17-17. Woodley registered a game-high eight shots, while Gebhart recorded four shots.
Zara Apakoh earned her first victory in net as she made 10 saves.
Mount Aloysius returns to action on Tuesday with a trip to Lycoming College for a 3:30 pm match.
