Box Score
Steubenville, OH - The Mount Aloysius women's soccer team battled to a 1-1 draw against host Franciscan University on Tuesday afternoon in AMCC action.

Down 1-0 with the clock winding down, Mountie sophomore Jordan Gebhart got behind the Franciscan backline on a through ball and struck for a goal with 39 seconds remaining in regulation to force overtime. In the overtime periods, both teams had chances at goal but were unable to convert. The Mounties best overtime opportunity came on a Katie Mirance header in the 103rd minute that sailed just high.

In the opening half, the Mounties and Barons traded scoring chances as Franciscan held a slight 7-6 edge in shots. Cheyenne Kuncher and Mirance both had a strong scoring opportunity in the 21st minute. After Kuncher dribbled past two defenders, the Franciscan keeper made a save that found the foot of Mirance. However, her next two shots were also stopped and the game remained scoreless.

The Barons got the 1-0 lead in the 51st minute, but the Mounties remained dangerous throughout the second half in search of the equalizer. Amanda Brancato had a shot from the top of the box sail wide in the 66th minute, and had another shot attempt blocked in the 82nd minute prior to Gebhart's goal with less than a minute to play.

Mirance led the Mounties with four shots, while Kuncher and Brancato each registered three shots for the game. Goalkeeper Zara Apakoh made five saves in net.

The Mounties move to 9-4-1 overall and 3-1-1 in conference play. They will host Hilbert on Saturday at 1 p.m.
