Erie, PA - In their first ever conference postseason appearance, the Mount Aloysius men's tennis team was defeated by a final score of 5-0 on Saturday afternoon against #2 seed Penn State Behrend at the Westwood Racquet Club.
The Mounties doubles tandems of
Matt Hample and
Nick Goldyn along with
Nick Centar and
Justin Fleegle fell victim in #1 and #2 doubles, before the duo of
Kevin Ouellette and
Aubrey Brown put forth a strong effort before falling by a final margin of 8-5. Hample and Centar then lost in #1 and #2 singles play resulting in the Behrend victory.
The loss drops the Mounties overall record to 7-6.
The Mounties will wrap up their 2016 schedule next weekend with a home match against non-conference opponent Thiel. Mount Aloysius will face off against Thiel on Saturday at 1 p.m.
