Altoona, PA - Jordan Gebhart sent in a goal with 10 minutes remaining in the contest as the Mount Aloysius women's soccer team defeated host Penn State Altoona by a final score of 2-1 on Wednesday evening in conference play.

After Cheyenne Kuncher lasered in a cross that was deflected, Gebhart found the ball in the box and pushed the ball into the back of the net. The Mounties then held strong defensively in the final 10 minutes to secure the victory. Altoona had tied it up at 1-1 with 30 minutes remaining in the game, but the Mounties pressed forward with 13 shots in the second half while finding the game-winning goal.

Kuncher put the Mounties on the board in the first half when she scored five minutes into the game on a shot that beat the keeper to the near post. The Mounties had a chance to increase the lead to 2-0 before halftime when Gebhart took a shot from 25 yards out that hit off the crossbar.

Mount Aloysius outshot the Lions 23-10 and held a 8-0 advantage in corner kick opportunities. Kuncher had seven shots, including five shots on goal, to pace the visitors. In goal, Leanne Cardoso-Bastos made four saves in the win.

The Mounties improve to 7-4-1 overall and will host D'Youville on Saturday afternoon.
