Lady Mounties Dominate AMCC Round Robin


Cresson, Pa. — Mount Aloysius Women's Bowling posted a 7-0 record in their first AMCC event of the season. In the two-day, 5-game baker format, Mount Aloysius defeated all seven opponents while posting a 173 average for the weekend. High baker averages for the Lady Mounties and team results were as follows:

Day 1 - Beth Longer 17.8, Lucy Craig 16.9.  
Match results Day 1 - MAC v. Penn State Behrend 177/120, 163/90, 147/125, 170/96, 155/95 (812/526); MAC v. Hilbert 159/102, 135/138, 168/102, 184/123, 175/135 (821/600) MAC v. Pitt Bradford 201/131, 172/175, 136/124, 155/169, 143/133 (807/732); and MAC v. NJCU 166/130, 180/126, 187/169, 149/147, 136/124 (818/696).  Team Baker Average Saturday 162.

Match results Day 2 - MAC v. Bye 142, 181, 201, 158, 176 (858), MAC v. Penn State Altoona 184/79, 167/119, 211/83, 200/110, 189/89 (951/480) and MAC v. Medaille 224/132, 197/160, 252/221, 156/158, 172/222 (1001/893). Team Baker Average Sunday 195.  

MAC's 1001 series is a school record and the 195 Team Baker Average is also a school record. 

"This team continues to get stronger as the competition goes on. We are getting a slow start in our events and we will work diligently in practice to get our game faces on sooner in competition during the next few weeks as well as being more proactive about our lane play," Head Coach Barbara Jones said.

The Lady Mounties will compete in a dual match against Pitt Bradford Saturday, November 18 at Clearfield Lanes at 1:00 p.m. for three matches.  Thereafter the team will head home for a much deserved holiday break with family.  The Lady Mounties currently have a NCAA record of 15-5 and an AMCC record of 7-0.
