Ebensburg, PA - The Mount Aloysius men's tennis team won their conference opener with a 6-3 victory over Pitt-Greensburg on Friday afternoon at Ebensburg Tennis Center.
In doubles play, the Mounties took two of three matches.
Trent McErlane and
Aubrey Brown took a 8-5 victory at #2 doubles, and
Nick Centar and
Dylan Matta also won 8-5 at #3 doubles. In singles play,
Matt Hample registered a 6-4, 7-6 win at #2 singles followed by a 7-6, 3-6, 7-6 victory for McErlane at #3 doubles. The Mounties clinched the match with wins from
Jalen Terry at #5 singles by a 2-6, 6-1, 10-8 margin and Centar at #6 singles, who registered a 6-0, 6-0 victory.
The win is the third straight for Mount Aloysius as the Mounties improve to 4-3 overall. The Mounties will return to the court on Saturday with a conference match on the road at Franciscan at 5 p.m.
