Nashville, TN - The Mount Aloysius women's bowling team competed for the final time this season over the weekend at the Music City Invitational hosted by Vanderbilt University. The event consisted of three days of competition including two days of baker play and one day of traditional matches.
The Mounties posted a 4-9 record in the event which included 19 of the top 20 NCAA bowling teams in the country.

Saturday posted a better result with the Mounties winning their first two matches against Texas Southern and Louisiana Tech before the Mounties fell to Long Island Brooklyn, St. Francis University and Sacred Heart. At the end of Day two the Mounties were in 33rd place out of 35 teams.
Sunday consisted of three best-4-of-7 baker matches in which the Mounties posted victories against Bethune-Cookman and Lincoln University of Missouri. The final match was a loss to Valparaiso which found the Mounties finishing in 32nd place overall.
Top scores were posted by
Lucy Craig on Friday with a 17.9 baker average.
Saturday was led by
Rayissa Amon with a 185 traditional average, and Amon also led the team
Sunday with a 18.2 baker average.
"This team worked very hard to get the opportunity to bowl in Tennessee and take on some of America's finest teams. It was the chance of a lifetime for many of these young women," Head Coach
Barbara Jones said.
The Mounties finished another highly successful year with an overall record of 58-29.
