Box Score 1 | Box Score 2
Erie, PA - The Mount Aloysius softball team dropped both games of a conference doubleheader to host Penn State Behrend on Saturday afternoon. The Mounties were defeated 15-4 in game one before losing game two by a 6-3 margin.

Down 1-0 heading into their second at-bat in game one, the Mounties pushed two runs across the plate to take a 2-1 advantage. Mount Aloysius loaded the bases and Courtney Link delivered with an RBI single to tie the game. Alexandria Teeter then drew a walk to force in a run and hand the Mounties the lead. Behrend responded with a dominant second inning offensively as the Lions scored nine runs on seven hits and two Mountie errors to take a commanding 10-2 lead.

The Lions added two runs in the bottom of the third before Mount Aloysius scored two runs of their own in the top of the fourth. Caroline Showalter drilled a double to left center to score Link, and Emily Wawroski brought in Showalter with a single up the middle. The Mounties still trailed 12-4, and the Lions added three runs in the home fourth while securing the five-inning victory.

The Mounties fell into a 5-1 hole in game two before rallying in the fifth inning. Showalter delivered with an RBI single to score Link, and Wawroski produced a double to the gap to score Teeter and make it a 5-3 ballgame. With runners on second and third and two outs, Behrend forced a Mountie flyout to end the threat. Mount Aloysius was only able to put one runner on base in its final two at-bats as Behrend took the conference sweep.

Mount Aloysius falls to 12-14 overall and 3-7 in conference play. They will return to the field on Tuesday for an away matchup at Franciscan. The conference doubleheader will begin at 3 p.m.
