Erie, PA - The Mount Aloysius men's tennis team was eliminated in the opening round of the AMCC playoffs by #1 seed Franciscan on Saturday afternoon.
The Barons took the three doubles matches to begin the match.
Nick Goldyn and
Matt Hample were defeated 8-3 at #1 doubles followed by an 8-2 loss for
Aubrey Brown and
Trent McErlane at #2 doubles.
Jalen Terry and
Nick Centar played well at #3 doubles before falling by a final margin of 8-5. Franciscan then took two singles matches to wrap up the playoff victory and advance to the AMCC Championship on Sunday. Â
The Mounties, who reached the AMCC playoffs for the second consecutive year under Head Coach
Mike Hample, now stand at 7-7 overall and will conclude their season this week with a trio of non-conference matches. They will return to the court Tuesday at home with a non-conference match against Bethany College at 4 p.m.Â
