Men's Tennis Falls in AMCC Playoffs


Erie, PA - The Mount Aloysius men's tennis team was eliminated in the opening round of the AMCC playoffs by #1 seed Franciscan on Saturday afternoon.

The Barons took the three doubles matches to begin the match. Nick Goldyn and Matt Hample were defeated 8-3 at #1 doubles followed by an 8-2 loss for Aubrey Brown and Trent McErlane at #2 doubles. Jalen Terry and Nick Centar played well at #3 doubles before falling by a final margin of 8-5. Franciscan then took two singles matches to wrap up the playoff victory and advance to the AMCC Championship on Sunday.  

The Mounties, who reached the AMCC playoffs for the second consecutive year under Head Coach Mike Hample, now stand at 7-7 overall and will conclude their season this week with a trio of non-conference matches. They will return to the court Tuesday at home with a non-conference match against Bethany College at 4 p.m.
