Mounties Break Program Record for Wins in Victory over Warriors


Williamsport, PA - The Mount Aloysius men's tennis team set a new program record for wins in a season as the Mounties wrapped up their 2016-2017 campaign with a 5-4 non-conference victory over host Lycoming on Friday afternoon at Bruce Henry Park. 

The win improves the Mounties record to 9-7 overall and eclipses the previous team high in wins set last season at eight. 

Mount Aloysius recorded victories in all three doubles matches to push themselves to the win. Matt Hample and Nick Goldyn took a 8-5 victory at #1 doubles before Trent McErlane and Jalen Terry stepped up for a 8-4 win at #2 doubles. Nick Centar and Dylan Matta concluded the doubles dominance with a 8-4 win at the #3 position. 

Matta and Terry then helped the Mounties hold on for the team win with victories at #5 and #6 singles. Matta notched a 6-3, 6-4 victory at the #5 spot, and Terry sealed the team victory with a 6-1, 6-2 win at #6 singles.
