Box Score 1 | Box Score 2
Cresson, PA - The Mount Aloysius softball team recorded a mercy-rule victory over visiting Pitt-Greensburg in game one before falling to the Bobcats in a close game two contest in a conference doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon.

The Mounties took game one by a final score of 8-0 in a game shortened to five innings via the mercy rule. Mount Aloysius started its scoring in the second inning when Kate Little ripped an RBI single with the bases loaded. The game remained a one-run affair until the home team struck for three runs in the bottom of the fourth. Leanne Cardoso-Bastos drew a walk with the bases load, and Courtney Link followed with a single that drove in two more runs. The game ended in the bottom of the fifth when Kendra Donelson and Link had back-to-back doubles that each brought home two runs for the Mounties.

Morgan Rackish was dominant in game one as she threw five innings and allowed just two Greensburg hits. Little went 3-for-3 for the Mounties with two runs scored, and Link went 2-for-4 with four RBI's.

Game two was a much tighter contest as the Bobcats scored a run apiece in the first and second innings to take a 2-0 advantage. Pitt-Greensburg added a run in the top of the fifth before the Mounties got on the board in the bottom of the inning when Cardoso-Bastos singled in Kateryna Bittner. Mount Aloysius was only able to notch two hits total in the final two at-bats for the home side as Pitt-Greensburg held on for the 3-1 victory.

Link added another two hits in game two to finish with four for the doubleheader.

Mount Aloysius is now 10-8 overall and 2-2 in conference play. They will return to action Saturday for a conference doubleheader at D'Youville beginning at 1 p.m.
