Box Score 1 | Box Score 2
Buffalo, NY - The Mount Aloysius softball team was in action on Sunday as the Mounties battled D'Youville in two one-run contests on the road. The Mounties lost a pitchers' duel by a final score of 1-0 in game one before rallying for a 4-3 victory in game two.

In game one, the two teams combined for just nine hits and the only run of the ballgame was scored by the host Spartans in the first inning. Hannah Ruby led the Mounties with a 2-for-3 showing at the plate, and Morgan Rackish was handed the loss despite allowing only four hits and the lone run in four innings of work. Ruby also pitched two scoreless innings in relief.

Game two saw the Mounties score in their opening at-bat when Ruby hit an RBI groundout to score Courtney Link. D'Youville responded with the next three runs of the game to take a 3-1 advantage through five innings of play. Mount Aloysius rallied to tie the game in the top of the sixth inning after Karly Klein came up big with a single that brought in two to make it 3-3. The Mounties took the lead in their final at-bat off of an error following a strikeout with the bases loaded.

Link had a 2-for-4 showing at the plate in game two with two runs scored, and Emily Wawroski had two hits including a double. Wawroski pitched six strong innings allowing six hits and one earned run before Ruby was credited with the win with a scoreless seventh inning.

The Mounties move to 11-9 overall and 3-3 in the AMCC and will return to the field tomorrow for a home doubleheader against Chatham in non-conference play. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
