Waynesburg, PA - The Mount Aloysius College Women's soccer team lost a close match on Friday, falling to their non-conference opponent Waynesburg University by a close score of 1-0.  

The game winning goal alluded Mountie Goalie Leanne Cardoso-Bastos, when a turnover occurred which was then shot from within the box. The Mountie keeper registered an impressive eight saves over the course of two periods of play at John F. Wiley Stadium.

The Mounties had multiple corner kick attempts throughout the match, but couldn't seem to convert any of the opportunities to goals.

With this defeat, the Mounties fall to 3-2-1 overall and will return to the field on Sunday when they take on Thiel College at home in Cresson, PA.
