Latrobe, PA - The Mount Aloysius College women's soccer team claimed their second win of the season, defeating Saint Vincent by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday afternoon on the road.

The Mounties recorded 12 shots in total, while the Bearcats had 14 total shots of their own. The score remained locked at zero for the entirety of the first period, until the Mounties Amanda Brancato netted the only goal of the match in the second half. Brancato skillfully placed a shot in the top right corner of the net in the 60th minute of the match to give Mount Aloysius the lead.

Mountie goalkeeper Leanne Cardoso-Bastos held strong in the front of the net, shutting out Saint Vincent and logging five saves in the process. The Mountie backline of Leah Frerichs, Summer Schell, Karen Boone and Katie Quillman helped the Mounties register their third straight shutout.

With this win, the Mounties have improved to 2-0-1 on the season and will return to the field on Saturday for their home match at 3:30 p.m. against Geneva College.
