Atoona, PA - MAC Bowling participated in the Red Flash Invitational hosted by neighboring SFU. The three day event was a difficult challenge for the Lady Mounties who struggled throughout the weekend winning only 4 matches and suffering 9 losses. The first day of the event consisted of 5 baker matches. The Lady Mounties defeated LIU Post 911/842. They fell to Caldwell 860/882, NJCU 794/830, Norfolk 841/930 and SFU 893/966.
Day Two was in the traditional format where the Lady Mounties were able to pull off 2 victories, one against Kutztown 917/849 and Pitt Bradford 851/785. The three losses that day were at the hands of Duquesne 832/1009, Coppin State 724/981 and Morgan State 860/941.
The final day of competition was the best 4 of 7 baker format. The Lady Mounties entered the day in 10th place overall and faced off against Morgan State. The series went to 6 games with the Lady Mounties being defeated 201/141, 167/173, 178/135, 129/179, 189/220 and 164/230. After dropping down in the bracket play, the Lady Mounties defeated LIU Post 165/154, 159/128, 157/140 and 166/159. The final match offered MAC bowling an opportunity to finish in 9th place and a third match for the weekend against Morgan State ended with the Lady Mounties suffering their third defeat to MSU 184/258, 179/182, 178/202 and 173/191, finishing 10th in the 17 team field.
High scorers for the weekend were

Rayissa Amon 18.0 baker average and 179 traditional average and
Beth Longer 18.5 baker average and 166 traditional average. This weekend found every bowler on the team seeing lane time and many players stepped up on a very difficult pattern.
The Lady Mounties are maintaining a 26/22 record heading into the AMCC #2 round robin tournament being hosted by Thiel College February 3 and 4.
