Lodi, NJ - The Mount Aloysius Women's Bowling team won their second tournament in as many weeks, placing first in the Northeast Classic, hosted by William Paterson University. The event was a "USBC event in which the ladies bowled 9 traditional games for a 172 average and 2 Baker matches for a 161 average.
6 traditional games were bowled Saturday on a 41 foot pattern. Senior
Jessica Bello was the high scorer on Saturday, as she posted an impressive 195 average. She was followed by her sister,
Michelle Bello, who finished with a 190 average.
3 traditional games and 2 Baker matches were held Sunday on a low scoring 36 foot pattern.
Michelle Bello was the high scorer for the Mounties on Sunday. Michelle added to her pinfall from Saturday, taking her average to 187, which was good for a spot on the All Tournament Team. The high average for the 2 match Baker-style finals went to Senior
Rayissa Amon with a 17.9 followed by
Michelle Bello with a 17.3.
This tournament concludes the fall swing as the team heads to Winter Break. The Mounties recorded 2 tournament wins and an 11/10 NCAA record for the Fall portion of their season. Coach Jones said, "Our performance this fall puts us on course for a solid season. We will look to continue this in our Spring portion which will include 5 NCAA competitions."
The Lady Mounties will take the monthlong break to relax and prepare for the action to start again on January 25th at the Red Flash Invitational, in Altoona, PA.
