Cresson, PA - The Mount Aloysius men's tennis team split a pair of matches on Friday and Saturday. The Mounties recorded their third victory of the season in a 6-3 non-conference victory over Thiel at home on Friday before dropping a 9-0 decision to conference foe Penn State Behrend on the road on Saturday.
Nick Goldyn and
Nick Centar recorded a 8-0 victory at #1 doubles against Thiel, and
Dylan Matta teamed up with
Christopher Godet to register a 8-2 win at #2 doubles. The Mounties then won singles matches at #1 through #4 singles. Goldyn won a tightly contested match 3-6, 6-3, 10-8 at #1 singles and Centar followed with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at #2 singles. Matta (#3 singles) and Godet (#4 singles) also won in comfortable fashion to help Mount Aloysius notch the team win.
The Mounties had less luck against Penn State Behrend a day later as the Lions swept the Mounties in both singles and doubles action.
Mount Aloysius moves to 3-7 overall on the season and will face Franciscan on Friday in a 5 p.m. conference match at home.
