BUTLER, Pa. -- On Monday and Tuesday, the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference hosted their 2021 edition of the AMCC Championship Golf Tournament, at Butler Country Club. The Mount Aloysius Golf Team finished fourth overall.
JuniorÂ
Aloysius Lee (Puchong, Malaysia, SMK Taman S.E.A) led the Mounties with a two-day score of 170 (83-87). His score was the lowest Mountie score each day of the tournament. It was also good enough for him to place 10th overall individually.
FreshmanÂ
Nate Hryn (Curwensville, PA, Curwensville) posted a 179 (89-90) for the tournament, as the second best Mountie scorer.Â
Tanner Fogel (Ashville, PA, Penn Cambria) andÂ
Luke Melisko (Sewickley, PA, Quaker Valley) followed that up, each shooting 181.
Penn State Altoona won the team championship, which earns them an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, held next spring. PS-Altoona's Andrew Ferguson was the tournament medalist, shooting back-to-back scores of 77.
This was the final tournament in the 2021 season for the Mounties. It was the second consecutive fourth place finish in the AMCC Tournament for Mount Aloysius. They will look to jump up the standings in 2022.
