Pittsburgh -- The Mount Aloysius Bowling team started their season with a 3-0 record, on Saturday, at the first AMCC Round Robin of 2021. The round robin format featured the "Southern" teams of the AMCC, Mount Aloysius, La Roche, New Jersey City, and Penn State Altoona.
The Mounties started the AMCC Round Robin by defeating Penn State Altoona in the first match, with scores of 192-137, 164-124, 143-145, 156-134 and 181-143. After a low scoring round, their next opponnent was New Jersey City. They were able to pull off the win in five games, 178-201, 189-148, 147-149, 155-152 and 175-155. The final match of the day was against La Roche, where Mount Aloysius rolled their highest series, 207-141, 167-142, 180-142, 147-143, 175-123. The team Baker average was a 17.0.
High scores for the day was Senior,
Michelle Bello (Pennsauken, NJ, Pennsauken), with an impressive 18.5 for 33 frames, Sophomore,
Savannah Prather (Erie, PA, Harbor Creek), with a 18.2 for 31 frames and Junior,
Megan Weaver (Gettysburg, PA, Gettysburg), with a 17.0.
The Mounties will be back in action on March 6, for AMCC Round Robin #2, which will take place in Altoona, PA.
