Men's Tennis Draws Williams in NCAA Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS -- On Monday, the NCAA announced the tournament field for the 2021 Division III Men's Tennis Championship. Mount Aloysius is lined up to face Williams College in the second round, scheduled for May 15.

The Mounties won the AMCC Regular Season and Postseason Tournament Championships in 2021. They are 8-0 overall, with a 4-0 record in AMCC play. They defeated fourth-seeded, Penn State Altoona, and second-seeded, Pitt-Greensburg, in the AMCC Tournament, to capture their first-ever AMCC Championship. By winning the AMCC, the Mounties earned the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. It will be their first-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

Mount Aloysius is set to begin their NCAA Tournament, in Nashville, Tenn., on Saturday, May 15. They are matched up with Williams in the tournament's second round. There were 37 teams selected to the tournament, with ten of the teams playing in the first round. The other 27 teams were automatically placed into the second round. The winner of the Mount Aloysius/Williams matchup will move on to play the winner of Rose-Hulman and Washington & Lee.

Mount Aloysius had three members on the AMCC Singles All-Conference teams, with Cole Kazmierczyk (Johnstown, PA, Richland) and Bruce Perow (Huntingdon, PA, Huntingdon) being named First Team, and Caleb Beidle (Bedford, PA, Bedford) making Second Team. All three Doubles pairings were selected to the second team. Coach, Mike Kush, was named the AMCC Coach of the Year, in addition to Perow being selected as the Newcomer of the Year, earlier this spring.
