CRESSON, Pa. -- The Mount Aloysius Men's Golf team continued a solid fall season, as they competed in the Mountain Valley Collegiate Classic, they co-hosted with Penn State Altoona. The event showcased two courses over the two days, as Friday had competition at Sinking Valley Country Club in Altoona, while Saturday's action was at Summit Country Club, home of Mount Aloysius.
Junior,
Aloysius Lee (Puchong, Malaysia, SMK Taman S.E.A), had the fourth best indivual score, after Friday's action, as he posted a 75 to lead the Mounties. He finished in an overall tie for 11th place, following an 83 on Saturday.
Brian Walwro (Colver, PA, Central Cambria)Â finished 16th overall, as he led the Mounties on in their home portion, with a 78 on Saturday. Paired with the 85 from Friday's round, he finished at a 163.
Tanner Fogel (Ashville, PA, Penn Cambria),
Luke Melisko (Sewickley, PA, Quaker Valley), andÂ
Nate Hryn (Curwensville, PA, Curwensville) rounded out the Mountie lineup. Fogel (84-82) finished tied for 20th, Melisko (87-81) in a tie for 24th, and Hryn (85-87) finished in a tie for 33rd. There were 60 total golfers in the event. Melisko's 81 on Saturday was the second-best Mountie score of the day, behind Walwro's 78.
Westminster won the team portion of the event with a 589. They had the top two individual finishers, including Jonny Stuckert, the event Medalist. Stuckert was two-under for the event, after shooting a six-under, 66 on Saturday. Penn State Altoona (598) and Penn State Behrend (641) rounded out the top three. Mount Aloysius finished with a team score of 653.
Mount Aloysius is set to return to action, on Monday, when they play in the Saint Vincent Invitational at Latrobe Country Club.
