CRESSON, Pa. -- On Saturday, the Mount Aloysius Women's Soccer team opened up AMCC play for the 2022 campaign. They hosted preseason-favorite, Penn State Behrend, as the second game of a doubleheader. The Lions beat the Mounties, 7-2.

Katie Figinski (Abingdon, Md. / Edgewood) led the Mounties, scoring both of their goals in the contest. They were her second and third goals of the season.

Jasmine Hinton (Huntingtown, Md. /Â Huntingtown) added an assist on Figinski's second goal of the day, counting as the only other Mountie to score a point.
- Goalkeeper,
Mallory Woodward (Huntingdon, Pa. / Huntingdon Area), had a game-high, three saves. She played the entire second half for the Mounties, in goal.
How It Happened
- Figinski got the scoring started, as she scored in the 10th minute. She was able to make a great move and get past the goalie, before finding the back of the net to give the Mounties a 1-0 lead.
- Disaster struck for the Mounties, in the 20th minute. Penn State Behrend scored their first of five goals in a five minute stretch. By the end of the 24th minute, the Mounties found themselves down, 5-1, following a penalty kick goal for the Lions.
- Penn State Behrend added one final goal in the first half, giving them a 6-1 lead at halftime.
- Each team scored one goal in the second half, with Figinski finishing up the scoring, on a pass from Hinton. The final marker made it 7-2, the same as the final.
Into the Box Score
- Penn State Behrend held a big advantage in shots, as they took 25 overall, compared to only five from the Mounties. The Lions also had 11 shots on goal, while the Mounties only had three.
- The Lions also had all five corner kicks in the game, giving them more scoring opportunities.

- Mount Aloysius will play one last non-conference game, as they travel to Mary Washington, this coming Wednesday.
