BRADFORD, Pa. -- Led by 4-0 performances from its top four players, the Mount Aloysius men's tennis team started its 2022-23 campaign with two victories over AMCC rival Pitt-Bradford on Saturday afternoon, 6-3 and 6-3.

Lucas Letizia (Dublin, Oh., Worthington Christian) all cruised to victories in both doubles and singles in both matches.
How It Happened
- In the first match, the doubles teams of Kazmierczyk and Jacobs in the #1 spot and the freshmen duo of Johnson and Letizia at #2 did not drop a single game en route to 8-0 victories. Â
- In singles, Kazmierczyk dominated at the #1 spot, winning 6-1, 6-0 over Jason Gao. At #2 singles, AMCC Conference Player of the Week Jacobs also excelled, defeating Patrick Tolerico 6-2, 6-0. In their first college starts, Johnson and Letizia also earned the victories at the #3 and #4 positions, with Johnson defeating Hugh Kennedy 6-0, 6-2, and Letizia beating Jermal Coleman 6-3, 6-1.
- The Mounties earned the victory 6-3 after having to default at the #3 doubles and #5 and #6 singles spots.Â
- In the second match, the Mounties put out their same lineup and again started strong in doubles, with Kazmierczyk and Jacobs winning 8-2 and Johnson and Letizia prevailing 8-3.
- At #1 singles, Kazmierczyk faced off against Gao again and won the first set 6-3 before Gao retired due to injury. Jacobs played a different Pitt-Bradford opponent at the #2 position, Alexander Maduakor, and did not lose a game, 6-0, 6-0. Johnson also did not drop a game at #3 singles, winning 6-0, 6-0 over Luke Gratz. Letizia finished the day with a 6-3, 6-0 victory against Hugh Kennedy, and locked up the overall match win of 6-3.

- The Mounties did not lose more than three games in any of the singles or doubles sets.Â
- The Mount Aloysius players had a total of 10 bagel sets, in which they did not drop a single game.
