Erie, Pa. -- Mount Aloysius women's soccer fell to Penn State Behrend this Wednesday, November 1st, in the AMCC championship tournament semifinal.
How It Happened:
- The opening fifteen minutes of the contest set up a back and forth affair, with both teams trading shots and offensive pushes.
- Early shots by
Sara Borlie (Kennett Square, Pa., Unionville) and
Jasmine Hinton (Huntingtown, MD, Huntingtown) looked on target, but were blocked by Lion defenders.
- The 18th minute saw Penn State Behrend take control of the game, firing five shots in eight minutes and shutting down any Mountie response early.
- Mount Aloysius was able to slow the pace down as the half closed, but a 42nd minute foul in the box gave Behrend a penalty kick, which was converted to put the visitors down 0-1 going in to the second.
- The Lions opened the half aggressively, pushing the pace into the Mountie side of the field.
