YOUNGWOOD, Pa. -- On Friday, the Mount Aloysius Cross Country teams traveled to the Westmoreland Invitational. The men earned a third place finish in the event, while the women only competed with individual runners.
For the men,Â
Chris Love (Altoona, Pa. /Â Hollidaysburg) finished fifth overall with a time of 18:50, leading the Mounties. Ethan Barrick from Pitt-Greensburg won the event, with a time of 17:06, nearly a full minute faster than the second place runner.
Josh Hamilton (Brush Valley, Pa. / United)Â also had a strong showing, finishing ninth overall. He finished with a time of 20:15.
In the women's event,Â
Kayle Strayer (Saint Michael, Pa. / Forest Hills) had the best Mountie finish, earning a top ten with a 24:01 time. It was her first collegiate race.
Mount Aloysius will take three weeks off before returning to action on September 23 at the Penn State Fayette Invitational.
