LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Mount Aloysius Rifle team competed in their third match of the season, on Saturday, when they traveled to the Virginia Military Institute. VMI had both a Mixed team and Women's team, while North Georgia was also included in the match.

Mount Aloysius finished third out of the four teams. The Mounties team shot a score of 2,242 in smallbore and a score of 2,304 in air rifle. They totaled a score of 4,546. North Georgia finished first, with a score of 4,664, while the VMI Mixed team shot a score of 4,585.

Elissa Barron (Hooversville, Pa. / North Star) had the best scores for Mount Aloysius, with a score of 568 in smallbore and a score of 584 in air rifle. Her smallbore score was seventh in the event and her air rifle score was the sixth best.

Kayla Trinkle (Zionsville, Pa. / Southern Lehigh) also posted a top ten score in smallbore, with a 564. She paired that with a 578 in air rifle for a total of 1,142. Right behind her was Molly Miller (Alum Bank, Pa. / Chestnut Ridge) who shot a total score of 1,141. Miller shot an identical 578 in air rifle.

Mount Aloysius will take a short trip to Morgantown, W.Va., next weekend, to take on West Virginia.
