Cresson, PA - Mount Aloysius Cross Country played host to the Mountie Invitational and turned in a determined team performance on their home course, placing five runners inside the top 20 and showing strong depth and resilience throughout the field.
Leading the charge for the Mounties was Kayle Strayer who clocked a 6th-place finish with a time of 24:26:00. The junior demonstrated solid pacing and consistency over the course, setting the tone for her teammates.
Freshman Anna Resig followed as the Mounties' second finisher, placing 14th overall in 27:42:20. She was closely trailed by Madison Cowfer (15th, 28:05.60) and Sophie Westrick (17th), 28:46.90), both of whom contributed key scoring positions in the middle of the pack.
Rounding out the top five for Mount Aloysius was sophomore Shannon Shaffer, who came through in 20th place with a time of 30:44:88, and freshman Jazmine Boyle added depth at 25th in 36:16:40.
On the men's side, Noah Noel finished in 11th place, just missing the cut for placing in the top 10.Noel finished with a time of 23:52:10.
The Mounties will look to build on this performance as they're back in action this Friday at the La Roche Invitational.
