Koptcho Named Pitcher of the Year; Six Mounties Earn All-Conference Honors

NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. -- The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) released the 2025 All-Conference Team & Award Winners list this Tuesday, May 13, naming Jessica Koptcho (Mountain Top, Pa., Crestwood) the 2025 Pitcher of the Year. In total, six Mounties would earn All-Conference nomination.

Koptcho's Pitcher of the Year award came from a dominant season on the mound. Koptcho would lead the AMCC with a 1.37 ERA for the season, nearly half the ERA of the second-best pitcher in the category. Koptcho would also lead the conference in strikeouts, tallying 137 on the year, 41 more than second place. Koptcho's strongest performance would come against Carlow, where she would earn 18 strikeouts across seven innings in a 10-3 win over the conference opponent. Koptcho would end with 12 wins, the second highest pitcher win count in the AMCC. In addition to the Pitcher of the Year award, Koptcho was named AMCC First Team All-Conference.

Shortstop Sarah Henninger (DuBois, Pa., DuBois) and outfielder Maya Capozzoli (Camp Hill, Pa., Cedar Cliff) would also earn First Team All-Conference honors. Henninger would lead the Mounties offensively this season, carrying a batting average of .484, good for second best in the AMCC. For her efforts, Henninger would earn a Player of the Week honor in the regular season. Capozzoli would also provide the Mounties with a boost at the plate, carrying the team's second best batting average at .365, while earning 14 RBI across 28 games played.

Designated player Maggie Cypher (Kittanning, Pa., Armstrong) would earn Second Team All-Conference honors for her efforts in the 2025 campaign. Cypher would carry a .342 batting average for the Mounties, also earning 14 RBI across 28 games played.

Pitcher Sierra Walters (East Freedom, Pa., Claysburg-Kimmel) and second base Whitney Cole (McDonald, Pa., South Fayette) would each earn Third Team All-Conference honors. Walters would carry a 3.93 ERA this season, the sixth best in the AMCC, while throwing 78 strikeouts, the fourth most in the conference. Cole would lead the Mounties in RBI this season, earning 26 across 33 games played, while carrying a .280 batting average. Familiar faces on All-Conference lists, Walters was previously named to the AMCC First Team and AMCC Second Team in 2023 and 2024, respectively, while Cole would earn All-Conference nominations for every year of her four-season career, being previously named to AMCC First Team, AMCC Second Team, and AMCC Third Team.
