The Mount Aloysius Mounties men's golf team kicked off their 2025 fall season with both the A and B squads competing at separate events over the weekend. With promising individual and team performances across the board, the Mounties set a positive tone for the season ahead.

Mountie A Team Competes at Gatorade Collegiate Invitational (Dover, OH)
The Mountie A team traveled to Dover, Ohio to take part in the Gatorade Collegiate Invitational, finishing in a tie for 7th place after posting team scores of 306 and 303 for a total of 609.
Leading the way was sophomore
Josh Nicholl (Ballymena, Northern Ireland, Cullybackey College), who turned in an impressive performance with rounds of 75 and 72, earning a tie for 5th place overall. Fellow sophomore
Viktor Cussil (Sigtuna, Sweden, Arlandagymnasiet) was close behind, finishing in 10th with scores of 78 and 72.
Jacob Koons (Kingston, Pa., Holy Redeemer) also delivered a strong showing, placing 22nd after rounds of 74 and 78.
Freshmen
Luke Sands (Stockholm, Sweden, Upplands-bro Gymnasium) and
William Willis (Chesterfield, Va., Benedictine) made their collegiate debuts, both contributing to the team's effort. Sands posted rounds of 75 and 81, while Willis recorded back-to-back scores of 78.
Michael Sevier (King George, Va., King George) rounded out the lineup with rounds of 79 and 84.

Mountie B Team Finishes 5th at Pitt-Bradford Kickoff Classic (Bradford, PA)
While the A team was in Dover, the Mountie B team headed to Bradford, Pennsylvania for the Pitt-Bradford Kickoff Classic, where they secured a 5th place finish with a team score of 316.
Senior
Tyler Oakes (Roaring Spring, Pa., Central) led the charge with a stellar round of 74, earning a tie for 2nd place individually. Sophomore
Ethan Batstone (Swindon, England, South Gloucestershire and Stroud) also turned in a strong showing, finishing 12th with a 76.
The remainder of the lineup saw consistent play, with
Vance Kunkle (Shippensburg, Pa., Shippensburg) shooting 82,
Filip Dahl (Jessheim, Norway, Hvam Videregaande Skole) carding 83, and
Oliver Pepulis (Ludvika, Sweden, VBU El-och Energiprogrammet) finishing with an 84.
Zach Oakes (Roaring Spring, Pa., Central) added an 86, while
Patrick McDonald (Hummelstown, Pa., Lower Dauphin)Â rounded things out with a score of 88.
The Mounties will return to action on September 21
st as the A team will travel to Meadville, Pa to take on the "Guy & Jean Kuhn Invitational" and the B team will travel to Lewisburg, Pa to take on "The Gauntlet".
