Mountie Women’s Soccer Battles Pitt-Greensburg in Conference Road Match

GREENSBURG, Pa. — The Mount Aloysius College women's soccer team continued its conference schedule on Tuesday, October 13, falling to Pitt-Greensburg by a final score of 6-0 at Ridilla Field.

Despite the result, the Mounties continued to battle throughout the 90-minute contest, highlighted by a strong performance in goal from McKenna Meadows (Lewisburg, PA, Lewisburg), who recorded nine saves against a persistent Pitt-Greensburg offensive attack.

Mount Aloysius faced pressure early in the opening half, but Meadows helped keep the Mounties within reach with several key stops. The goalkeeper recorded six saves in the first 45 minutes, including multiple saves during the opening 15 minutes of action.

Pitt-Greensburg eventually broke through in the 21st minute and added two more goals before halftime, taking a 3-0 advantage into the break.

The Mounties continued to compete defensively in the second half, working to limit scoring opportunities while looking to generate chances of their own. Meadows added three more saves after halftime, finishing the afternoon with nine stops across 90 minutes.

Offensively, Becca Fetchko (Windber, Pa., Richland) provided a late opportunity for Mount Aloysius, recording the team's lone shot of the afternoon in the 88th minute. Her attempt was on target but was stopped by the Pitt-Greensburg goalkeeper.

Pitt-Greensburg added three second-half goals to secure the victory. The Bobcats finished with 29 shots, including 15 on goal, while Mount Aloysius continued to compete through the final whistle.

The Mounties' defensive effort was led by Meadows, who faced consistent pressure throughout the contest. Her nine-save performance was a bright spot for Mount Aloysius as the team continued its conference campaign.

With the result, Mount Aloysius moves to 1-10-1 overall and 1-2-0 in conference play.
