Cresson, PA - April 13, 2026 - The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) has announced its Athletes of the Week selections in the sports men's baseball and tennis, and women's lacrosse and softball for the period running from April 6-12, 2026.

For softball, Mountie softball ace Jessica Koptcho (Mountain Top, Pa., Crestwood) continues to live up to her preseason billing, earning AMCC Pitcher of the Week honors for the second time this spring after another dominant stretch in the circle. The reigning preseason Pitcher of the Year turned in a standout week, going 2-1 with a 1.31 ERA across three starts while logging 16.0 innings and striking out 16. She currently leads the conference with 59 strikeouts, ranks fourth with a 3.16 ERA, and sits second in innings pitched (68.2), further cementing her role as one of the league's most reliable arms.

Koptcho opened the week with a 10-strikeout complete game at Penn College before playing a key role in a road sweep of Alfred State yesterday, where she picked up two wins and allowed just one earned run over 10.0 innings. Highlighting the week, she eclipsed the 300-career strikeout milestone in game one against the Pioneers. In conference action alone, Koptcho was nearly untouchable, going 2-0 with a 0.70 ERA and six strikeouts, anchoring a crucial week for the Mounties.

The Mounties will host Pitt-Greensburg (9-15, 4-4, AMCC) tomorrow at 2:00 and 4:00 pm at the Softball Field.
