CRESSON, Pa — The Mount Aloysius College women's soccer team battled throughout 90 minutes Friday evening at Kelly Field, falling 4-0 to Juniata College.

The Mounties showed early defensive resilience, with goalkeeper Katie Scott (Mineral Point, Pa. , Central Cambria) making several key saves to keep the game within reach. Scott finished the contest with 10 saves, including five in each half.

Mount Aloysius created several opportunities during the opening half, recording three shots and earning a corner kick. Abby Bell (Hollidaysburg, Pa., Hollidaysburg) registered two shots in the first half, while Paiton Campbell (Roaring Spring, Pa., Central) added another attempt as the Mounties looked to generate offensive momentum.

The Mounties entered halftime trailing 1-0 before continuing to compete on both ends of the field in the second half. Mount Aloysius earned two additional corner kicks after the break and continued to work for opportunities in the attacking third.

Brooklyn Galinis (Hastings, Pa., Cambria Heights) provided the Mounties' best offensive opportunity of the second half, putting a shot on goal in the 68th minute that was saved by the Juniata goalkeeper. Galinis finished with one shot and one shot on goal, while the Mounties totaled four shots for the game.

Despite the result, Scott's 10-save performance highlighted a strong individual effort in goal. The Mounties also limited their mistakes, committing 10 fouls while avoiding any cautions or ejections during the contest.

Mount Aloysius will look to regroup and continue its season in its next contest, Wednesday on the road against Wilkes University.
