Vanessa Cooper has joined the Mount Aloysius Softball program as an Assistant Coach for the 2019 season. A 2014 graduate of Bellefonte Area High School, Cooper played collegiately at Division I University of Massachusetts Lowell.
As a Riverhawk, Cooper started 136 of 152 career games, primarily playing first base. She collected 772 putouts in her 4 year career with a .982 fielding percentage. At the plate, she had a .259 batting average, accumulating 105 hits and 7 home runs. She was named to the America East All-Rookie team as a freshman in 2015, A 2nd Team All-Conference as a senior and 1st team All-Conference as a junior.Â
Cooper's coaching career began in college as she was a coach for the Northeast Hurricanes travel team, based out of Nashua, New Hampshire. She also assisted the softball program at Simmons University.
She graduated in 2018 with a degree in Psychology.
