Tara Dakers was named an assistant women's soccer coach at Mount Aloysius in June 2017.
In her two seasons on the sidelines, the Mounties have won a combined 26 games including a program record 14 wins during the 2018 season. The Mounties advanced to the AMCC Championship Game for the first time in program history in 2018 after advancing to the AMCC Playoff Semifinals for the second consecutive season during the 2017 campaign. Additionally, a total of 15 Mounties have been named to the AMCC All-Conference Team during her first two seasons.
Dakers arrived at Mount Aloysius after a four-year playing career at King University in Bristol, Tennessee, where she appeared in 60 games as a defender for the NCAA Division II Tornado. Dakers was a two-time academic All-Conference honoree in the Conference Carolinas. Following her playing career, Dakers served as a coaching intern for the King University women's soccer program in the spring of 2017 where she helped run practice sessions, recruiting and the annual alumni game. Dakers also served as an assistant coach for the swim team at King.
Dakers graduated from King in May 2017 with a bachelor's degree in Marketing and Sports Management with a minor in Coaching.
Prior to coming to the United States, Dakers attended Heart Lake Secondary School in Brampton, Ontario, where she was a three-time MVP and captain of the soccer team.
Dakers has additional coaching experience as a youth coach in the summer months for Brams United in Brampton.Â
While at Mount Aloysius, Dakers will be pursuing a master's degree in Business Administration.
